LatencyTOP is a tool for software developers (both kernel and userspace), aimed at identifying where in the system latency is happening, and what kind of operation/action is causing the latency to happen so that the code can be changed to avoid the worst latency hiccups. This package contains a build of LatencyTOP with GUI interface. For a build without GUI install latencytop-tui instead.

Handy Yum Commands for latencytop


Control the latencytop package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install latencytop

This command will install latencytop on the server.

yum remove latencytop

This command will un-install latencytop on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove latencytop, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove latencytop

This command will un-install latencytop on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove latencytop when using the -y flag.

yum update latencytop

This command will update latencytop to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove latencytop, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update latencytop

This command will update latencytop to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove latencytop when using the -y flag.

yum info latencytop

This command will show you core information about the latencytop package.
