Description:

libhugetlbfs is a library which provides easy access to huge pages of memory. It is a wrapper for the hugetlbfs file system. Applications can use huge pages to fulfill malloc() requests without being recompiled by using LD_PRELOAD. Alternatively, applications can be linked against libhugetlbfs without source modifications to load BSS or BSS, data, and text segments into large pages.

Handy Yum Commands for libhugetlbfs


Control the libhugetlbfs package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install libhugetlbfs

This command will install libhugetlbfs on the server.

yum remove libhugetlbfs

This command will un-install libhugetlbfs on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libhugetlbfs, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove libhugetlbfs

This command will un-install libhugetlbfs on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove libhugetlbfs when using the -y flag.

yum update libhugetlbfs

This command will update libhugetlbfs to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libhugetlbfs, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update libhugetlbfs
