libibverbs is a library that allows userspace processes to use RDMA "verbs" as described in the InfiniBand Architecture Specification and the RDMA Protocol Verbs Specification. For this library to be useful, a device-specific plug-in module should also be installed.

Handy Yum Commands for libibverbs


Control the libibverbs package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install libibverbs

This command will install libibverbs on the server.

yum remove libibverbs

This command will un-install libibverbs on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libibverbs, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove libibverbs

This command will un-install libibverbs on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove libibverbs when using the -y flag.

yum update libibverbs

This command will update libibverbs to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libibverbs, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update libibverbs

This command will update libibverbs to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove libibverbs when using the -y flag.
