Description:

The libxslt-python package contains a module that permits applications written in the Python programming language to use the interface supplied by the libxslt library to apply XSLT transformations. This library allows to parse sytlesheets, uses the libxml2-python to load and save XML and HTML files. Direct access to XPath and the XSLT transformation context are possible to extend the XSLT language with XPath functions written in Python.

Handy Yum Commands for libxslt-python


Control the libxslt-python package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install libxslt-python

This command will install libxslt-python on the server.

yum remove libxslt-python

This command will un-install libxslt-python on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libxslt-python, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove libxslt-python

This command will un-install libxslt-python on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove libxslt-python when using the -y flag.

yum update libxslt-python

This command will update libxslt-python to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libxslt-python, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update libxslt-python

This command will update libxslt-python to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove libxslt-python when using the -y flag.

yum info libxslt-python

This command will show you core information about the libxslt-python package.

yum deplist libxslt-python

This command will show you the dependencies for libxslt-python. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update libxslt-python

This command will check if there is an update waiting on libxslt-python. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
