Description:

This package accompanies J. Fox, An R and S-PLUS Companion to Applied Regression, Sage, 2002. The package contains mostly functions for applied regression, linear models, and generalized linear models, with an emphasis on regression diagnostics, particularly graphical diagnostic methods. There are also some utility functions. With some exceptions, it does not duplicate capabilities in the basic distribution of R, nor in widely used packages. Where relevant, the functions in car are consistent with na.action = na.omit or na.exclude.

Handy Yum Commands for R-car


Control the R-car package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install R-car

This command will install R-car on the server.

yum remove R-car

This command will un-install R-car on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove R-car, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove R-car

This command will un-install R-car on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove R-car when using the -y flag.

yum update R-car

This command will update R-car to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove R-car, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update R-car

This command will update R-car to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove R-car when using the -y flag.

yum info R-car

This command will show you core information about the R-car package.

yum deplist R-car

This command will show you the dependencies for R-car. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update R-car

This command will check if there is an update waiting on R-car. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
