Description:
A language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. R is similar to the award-winning S system, which was developed at Bell Laboratories by John Chambers et al. Control the R-core package with the following handy commands outlined below.
yum install R-core
This command will install R-core on the server.
yum remove R-core
This command will un-install R-core on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove R-core, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
yum -y remove R-core
This command will un-install R-core on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove R-core when using the -y flag.
yum update R-core
This command will update R-core to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove R-core, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
yum -y update R-core
