Description:

AVL is a program for the aerodynamic and flight-dynamic analysis of rigid aircraft of arbitrary configuration. It employs an extended vortex lattice model for the lifting surfaces, together with a slender-body model for fuselages and nacelles. General nonlinear flight states can be specified. The flight dynamic analysis combines a full linearization of the aerodynamic model about any flight state, together with specified mass properties.

Handy Yum Commands for avl


Control the avl package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install avl

This command will install avl on the server.

yum remove avl

This command will un-install avl on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove avl, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove avl

This command will un-install avl on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove avl when using the -y flag.

yum update avl

This command will update avl to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove avl, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update avl

This command will update avl to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove avl when using the -y flag.
