`cmark` is the C reference implementation of CommonMark, a rationalized version of Markdown syntax with a spec. It provides a shared library (`libcmark`) with functions for parsing CommonMark documents to an abstract syntax tree (AST), manipulating the AST, and rendering the document to HTML, groff man, LaTeX, CommonMark, or an XML representation of the AST. It also provides a command-line program (`cmark`) for parsing and rendering CommonMark documents.

Handy Yum Commands for cmark


Control the cmark package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install cmark

This command will install cmark on the server.

yum remove cmark

This command will un-install cmark on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove cmark, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove cmark

This command will un-install cmark on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove cmark when using the -y flag.

yum update cmark

This command will update cmark to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove cmark, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update cmark

This command will update cmark to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove cmark when using the -y flag.

yum info cmark

This command will show you core information about the cmark package.

yum deplist cmark

This command will show you the dependencies for cmark. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update cmark

This command will check if there is an update waiting on cmark. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
