Description:

The DSSP program standardizes protein secondary structure assignment. DSSP is a database of secondary structure assignments (and much more) for all protein entries in the Protein Data Bank (PDB). Handy Yum Commands for dssp


Control the dssp package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install dssp

This command will install dssp on the server.

yum remove dssp

This command will un-install dssp on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove dssp, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove dssp

This command will un-install dssp on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove dssp when using the -y flag.

yum update dssp

This command will update dssp to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove dssp, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update dssp

This command will update dssp to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove dssp when using the -y flag.

yum info dssp

This command will show you core information about the dssp package.
