The FTS server is a service which accepts transfer jobs, it exposes a RESTful interface. The File Transfer Service allows also for querying and canceling transfer-jobs. The authentication and authorization is VOMS based. Furthermore, the service provides a mechanism that dynamically adjust transfer parameters for optimal bandwidth utilization and allows for configuring so called VO-shares.

Control the fts-server package with the following handy commands outlined below.
yum install fts-server
This command will install fts-server on the server.
yum remove fts-server
This command will un-install fts-server on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove fts-server, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
yum -y remove fts-server
This command will un-install fts-server on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove fts-server when using the -y flag.
yum update fts-server
This command will update fts-server to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove fts-server, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
yum -y update fts-server
