Description:

Gabedit is a Graphical User Interface to Gamess-US, Gaussian, Molcas, Molpro and MPQC computational chemistry packages. Gabedit includes graphical facilities for generating keywords and options, molecule specifications and their input sections for even the most advanced calculation types. Gabedit includes an advanced Molecule Builder. You can use it to rapidly sketch in molecules and examine them in three dimensions. You can build molecules by atom, ring, group, amino acid and nucleoside. You can also read geometry from a file. Most major molecular file formats are supported.

Handy Yum Commands for gabedit


Control the gabedit package with the following handy commands outlined below.

Description of Command

yum install gabedit

This command will install gabedit on the server.

yum remove gabedit

This command will un-install gabedit on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove gabedit, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove gabedit

This command will un-install gabedit on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove gabedit when using the -y flag.

yum update gabedit

This command will update gabedit to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove gabedit, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update gabedit

This command will update gabedit to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove gabedit when using the -y flag.

yum info gabedit

This command will show you core information about the gabedit package.

yum deplist gabedit

This command will show you the dependencies for gabedit. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.
