Description:

This script creates appropriate keys and QR codes for setting up custom tokens. It can create TOTP (time based) and HOTP (event based) tokens, and provide textmode QR codes for loading into Google Authenticator. It can also provide the needed commands to prepare a Yubikey. Only use this on a trusted system with an encrypted filesystem. This script was not designed to be used except by experienced users, so it is not terribly user friendly.

Handy Yum Commands for gen-oath-safe


Control the gen-oath-safe package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install gen-oath-safe

This command will install gen-oath-safe on the server.

yum remove gen-oath-safe

This command will un-install gen-oath-safe on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove gen-oath-safe, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove gen-oath-safe

This command will un-install gen-oath-safe on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove gen-oath-safe when using the -y flag.

yum update gen-oath-safe

This command will update gen-oath-safe to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove gen-oath-safe, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update gen-oath-safe

This command will update gen-oath-safe to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove gen-oath-safe when using the -y flag.
