Description:

html2text is a command line utility that converts HTML documents into plain text. Each HTML document is read from standard input or a (local or remote) URI, and formatted into a stream of plain text characters that is written to standard output or into an output-file. The program preserves the original positions of table fields and accepts also syntactically incorrect input, attempting to interpret it "reasonably". The rendering is largely customisable through an RC file.

Handy Yum Commands for html2text


Control the html2text package with the following handy commands outlined below.

Description of Command

yum install html2text

This command will install html2text on the server.

yum remove html2text

This command will un-install html2text on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove html2text, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove html2text

This command will un-install html2text on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove html2text when using the -y flag.

yum update html2text

This command will update html2text to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove html2text, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update html2text

This command will update html2text to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove html2text when using the -y flag.

yum info html2text

This command will show you core information about the html2text package.
