Description:

librsync implements the "rsync" algorithm, which allows remote differencing of binary files. librsync computes a delta relative to a file's checksum, so the two files need not both be present to generate a delta. This library was previously known as libhsync up to version 0.9.0. The current version of this package does not implement the rsync network protocol and uses a delta format slightly more efficient than and incompatible with rsync 2.4.6.

Handy Yum Commands for librsync


Control the librsync package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install librsync

This command will install librsync on the server.

yum remove librsync

This command will un-install librsync on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove librsync, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove librsync

This command will un-install librsync on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove librsync when using the -y flag.

yum update librsync

This command will update librsync to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove librsync, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update librsync

This command will update librsync to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove librsync when using the -y flag.

yum info librsync

This command will show you core information about the librsync package.
