libspf2 is an implementation of the SPF (Sender Policy Framework) specification as found at: http://www.ietf.org/internet-drafts/draft-mengwong-spf-00.txt SPF allows email systems to check SPF DNS records and make sure that an email is authorized by the administrator of the domain name that it is coming from. This prevents email forgery, commonly used by spammers, scammers, and email viruses/worms. A lot of effort has been put into making it secure by design, and a great deal of effort has been put into the regression tests.

Handy Yum Commands for libspf2


Control the libspf2 package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install libspf2

This command will install libspf2 on the server.

yum remove libspf2

This command will un-install libspf2 on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libspf2, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove libspf2

This command will un-install libspf2 on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove libspf2 when using the -y flag.

yum update libspf2

This command will update libspf2 to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libspf2, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update libspf2

This command will update libspf2 to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove libspf2 when using the -y flag.

This command will show you core information about the libspf2 package.
