MimeTeX lets you easily embed LaTeX math in your html pages. It parses a LaTeX math expression and immediately emits the corresponding gif image, rather than the usual TeX dvi. And mimeTeX is an entirely separate little program that doesn't use TeX or its fonts in any way.

Control the mimetex package with the following handy commands outlined below.
yum install mimetex
This command will install mimetex on the server.
yum remove mimetex
This command will un-install mimetex on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove mimetex, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
yum -y remove mimetex
This command will un-install mimetex on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove mimetex when using the -y flag.
yum update mimetex
This command will update mimetex to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove mimetex, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
yum -y update mimetex
