NETGEN is an automatic 3d tetrahedral mesh generator. It accepts input from constructive solid geometry (CSG) or boundary representation (BRep) from STL file format. The connection to a geometry kernel allows the handling of IGES and STEP files. NETGEN contains modules for mesh optimization and hierarchical mesh refinement.

Handy Yum Commands for netgen-mesher


Control the netgen-mesher package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install netgen-mesher

This command will install netgen-mesher on the server.

yum remove netgen-mesher

This command will un-install netgen-mesher on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove netgen-mesher, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove netgen-mesher

This command will un-install netgen-mesher on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove netgen-mesher when using the -y flag.

yum update netgen-mesher

This command will update netgen-mesher to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove netgen-mesher, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update netgen-mesher

This command will update netgen-mesher to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove netgen-mesher when using the -y flag.

This command will show you core information about the netgen-mesher package.

yum deplist netgen-mesher

This command will show you the dependencies for netgen-mesher. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.
