Description:

PyCAM is a toolpath generator for 3-axis CNC machining. It loads 3D models in STL format or 2D contour models from DXF or SVG files. The resulting GCode can be used with EMC2 or any other machine controller. PyCAM supports a wide range of toolpath strategies for 3D models and 2D contour models.

Handy Yum Commands for pycam


Control the pycam package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install pycam

This command will install pycam on the server.

yum remove pycam

This command will un-install pycam on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove pycam, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove pycam

This command will un-install pycam on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove pycam when using the -y flag.

yum update pycam

This command will update pycam to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove pycam, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update pycam

This command will update pycam to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove pycam when using the -y flag.

yum info pycam

This command will show you core information about the pycam package.

yum deplist pycam

This command will show you the dependencies for pycam. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update pycam

This command will check if there is an update waiting on pycam. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
