Description:

SEC is a simple event correlation tool that reads lines from files, named pipes, or standard input, and matches the lines with regular expressions, Perl subroutines, and other patterns for recognizing input events. Events are then correlated according to the rules in configuration files, producing output events by executing user-specified shell commands, by writing messages to pipes or files, etc.

Handy Yum Commands for sec


Control the sec package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install sec

This command will install sec on the server.

yum remove sec

This command will un-install sec on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove sec, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove sec

This command will un-install sec on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove sec when using the -y flag.

yum update sec

This command will update sec to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove sec, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update sec

This command will update sec to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove sec when using the -y flag.

yum info sec

This command will show you core information about the sec package.
