Tig is a repository browser for the git revision control system that additionally can act as a pager for output from various git commands. Using it as a pager, it will display input from stdin and colorize it.

Handy Yum Commands for tig


Control the tig package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install tig

This command will install tig on the server.

yum remove tig

This command will un-install tig on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove tig, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove tig

This command will un-install tig on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove tig when using the -y flag.

yum update tig

This command will update tig to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove tig, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update tig

This command will update tig to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove tig when using the -y flag.

yum info tig

This command will show you core information about the tig package.

yum deplist tig
