Description:

TORQUE (Tera-scale Open-source Resource and QUEue manager) is a resource manager providing control over batch jobs and distributed compute nodes. TORQUE is based on OpenPBS version 2.3.12 and incorporates scalability, fault tolerance, and feature extension patches provided by USC, NCSA, OSC, the U.S. Dept of Energy, Sandia, PNNL, U of Buffalo, TeraGrid, and many other leading edge HPC organizations. This package includes the shared libraries necessary for running TORQUE programs.

Handy Yum Commands for torque-libs


Control the torque-libs package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install torque-libs

This command will install torque-libs on the server.

yum remove torque-libs

This command will un-install torque-libs on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove torque-libs, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove torque-libs

This command will un-install torque-libs on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove torque-libs when using the -y flag.

yum update torque-libs

This command will update torque-libs to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove torque-libs, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update torque-libs

This command will update torque-libs to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove torque-libs when using the -y flag.

yum info torque-libs

This command will show you core information about the torque-libs package.

yum deplist torque-libs

This command will show you the dependencies for torque-libs. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update torque-libs

This command will check if there is an update waiting on torque-libs. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
