Description:

Xdvik, the kpathsea version of xdvi, is a previewer for DVI files produced e.g. by the TeX or troff typesetting systems. If you are installing texlive and you use PlainTeX or you are using DVI files, you will also need to install xdvi which allows you to view DVI files. Consider installing texlive-dvips (for converting .dvi files to PostScript format for printing on PostScript printers), and texlive-latex (a higher level formatting package which provides an easier-to-use interface for TeX).

Handy Yum Commands for xdvik


Control the xdvik package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install xdvik

This command will install xdvik on the server.

yum remove xdvik

This command will un-install xdvik on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove xdvik, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove xdvik

This command will un-install xdvik on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove xdvik when using the -y flag.

yum update xdvik

This command will update xdvik to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove xdvik, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update xdvik

This command will update xdvik to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove xdvik when using the -y flag.

yum info xdvik

This command will show you core information about the xdvik package.

yum deplist xdvik
