Description:

Libraries, include files, etc you can use to develop XML applications. This library allows to manipulate XML files. It includes support to read, modify and write XML and HTML files. There is DTDs support this includes parsing and validation even with complex DtDs, either at parse time or later once the document has been modified. The output can be a simple SAX stream or and in-memory DOM like representations. In this case one can use the built-in XPath and XPointer implementation to select subnodes or ranges. A flexible Input/Output mechanism is available, with existing HTTP and FTP modules and combined to an URI library.

Handy Yum Commands for libxml2-devel


Control the libxml2-devel package with the following handy commands outlined below.

This command will install libxml2-devel on the server.

yum remove libxml2-devel

This command will un-install libxml2-devel on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libxml2-devel, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove libxml2-devel

This command will un-install libxml2-devel on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove libxml2-devel when using the -y flag.

yum update libxml2-devel

This command will update libxml2-devel to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libxml2-devel, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update libxml2-devel
