Ghostscript translates PostScript code into many common, bitmapped formats, like those understood by your printer or screen. Ghostscript is normally used to display PostScript files and to print PostScript files to non-PostScript printers. Handy Yum Commands for ghostscript


Control the ghostscript package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install ghostscript

This command will install ghostscript on the server.

yum remove ghostscript

This command will un-install ghostscript on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove ghostscript, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove ghostscript

This command will un-install ghostscript on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove ghostscript when using the -y flag.

yum update ghostscript

This command will update ghostscript to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove ghostscript, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update ghostscript
