Description:

SIL Abyssinica is a Unicode typeface family containing glyphs for the Ethiopic script. The Ethiopic script is used for writing many of the languages of Ethiopia and Eritrea. Abyssinica SIL supports all Ethiopic characters which are in Unicode including the Unicode 4.1 extensions. Some languages of Ethiopia are not yet able to be fully represented in Unicode and, where necessary, we have included non-Unicode characters in the Private Use Area (see Private-use (PUA) characters supported by Abyssinica SIL). Abyssinica SIL is based on Ethiopic calligraphic traditions. This release is a regular typeface, with no bold or italic version available or planned.

Handy Yum Commands for abyssinica-fonts


Control the abyssinica-fonts package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install abyssinica-fonts

This command will install abyssinica-fonts on the server.

yum remove abyssinica-fonts

This command will un-install abyssinica-fonts on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove abyssinica-fonts, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove abyssinica-fonts

This command will un-install abyssinica-fonts on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove abyssinica-fonts when using the -y flag.

yum update abyssinica-fonts

This command will update abyssinica-fonts to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove abyssinica-fonts, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update abyssinica-fonts

This command will update abyssinica-fonts to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove abyssinica-fonts when using the -y flag.
