Description:

libdbi implements a database-independent abstraction layer in C, similar to the DBI/DBD layer in Perl. Writing one generic set of code, programmers can leverage the power of multiple databases and multiple simultaneous database connections by using this framework. The libdbi package contains just the libdbi framework. To make use of libdbi you will also need one or more plugins from libdbi-drivers, which contains the plugins needed to interface to specific database servers.

Handy Yum Commands for libdbi


Control the libdbi package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install libdbi

This command will install libdbi on the server.

yum remove libdbi

This command will un-install libdbi on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libdbi, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove libdbi

This command will un-install libdbi on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove libdbi when using the -y flag.

yum update libdbi

This command will update libdbi to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove libdbi, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update libdbi

This command will update libdbi to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove libdbi when using the -y flag.

This command will show you core information about the libdbi package.
