Description:

The Text::Iconv module provides a Perl interface to the iconv() function as defined by the Single UNIX Specification. The convert() method converts the encoding of characters in the input string from the fromcode codeset to the tocode codeset, and returns the result. Settings of fromcode and tocode and their permitted combinations are implementation-dependent. Valid values are specified in the system documentation.

Handy Yum Commands for perl-Text-Iconv


Control the perl-Text-Iconv package with the following handy commands outlined below.

This command will install perl-Text-Iconv on the server.

yum remove perl-Text-Iconv

This command will un-install perl-Text-Iconv on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove perl-Text-Iconv, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove perl-Text-Iconv

This command will un-install perl-Text-Iconv on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove perl-Text-Iconv when using the -y flag.

yum update perl-Text-Iconv

This command will update perl-Text-Iconv to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove perl-Text-Iconv, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update perl-Text-Iconv
