This documentation pertains exclusively to version 9.0.3 of the PKI Common Framework. This package is a part of the PKI Core used by the Certificate System. ================================== || ABOUT "CERTIFICATE SYSTEM" || ================================== Certificate System (CS) is an enterprise software system designed to manage enterprise Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) deployments. PKI Core contains fundamental packages required by Certificate System, and consists of the following components: * pki-setup * pki-symkey * pki-native-tools * pki-util * pki-util-javadoc * pki-java-tools * pki-java-tools-javadoc * pki-common * pki-common-javadoc * pki-selinux * pki-ca * pki-silent which comprise the following PKI subsystems: * Certificate Authority (CA) For deployment purposes, Certificate System requires ONE AND ONLY ONE of the following "Mutually-Exclusive" PKI Theme packages: * ipa-pki-theme (IPA deployments) * dogtag-pki-theme (Dogtag Certificate System deployments) * redhat-pki-theme (Red Hat Certificate System deployments)

Description of Command

yum install pki-common-javadoc

This command will install pki-common-javadoc on the server.

yum remove pki-common-javadoc

This command will un-install pki-common-javadoc on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove pki-common-javadoc, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove pki-common-javadoc

This command will un-install pki-common-javadoc on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove pki-common-javadoc when using the -y flag.

yum update pki-common-javadoc

This command will update pki-common-javadoc to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove pki-common-javadoc, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update pki-common-javadoc

This command will update pki-common-javadoc to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove pki-common-javadoc when using the -y flag.

yum info pki-common-javadoc

This command will show you core information about the pki-common-javadoc package.

yum deplist pki-common-javadoc

This command will show you the dependencies for pki-common-javadoc. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update pki-common-javadoc

This command will check if there is an update waiting on pki-common-javadoc. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
