Description:

PLPA is an attempt to solve the problem that there are multiple API's for processor affinity within Linux. Specifically, the functions sched_setaffinity() and sched_getaffinity() have numbers and types of parameters depending on your Linux vendor and/or version of GLibc. This is quite problematic for applications attempting to use processor affinity in Linux for compile-time, link-time, and run-time reasons. plpa-libs contains runtime libraries.

Handy Yum Commands for plpa-libs


Control the plpa-libs package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install plpa-libs

This command will install plpa-libs on the server.

yum remove plpa-libs

This command will un-install plpa-libs on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove plpa-libs, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove plpa-libs

This command will un-install plpa-libs on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove plpa-libs when using the -y flag.

yum update plpa-libs

This command will update plpa-libs to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove plpa-libs, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update plpa-libs

This command will update plpa-libs to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove plpa-libs when using the -y flag.

This command will show you core information about the plpa-libs package.

yum deplist plpa-libs

This command will show you the dependencies for plpa-libs. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.
