Description:

A high-performance Prolog compiler developed at LIACC, Universidade do Porto. The Prolog engine is based in the WAM (Warren Abstract Machine), with several optimizations for better performance. YAP follows the Edinburgh tradition, and is largely compatible with the ISO-Prolog standard and with Quintus and SICStus Prolog.

Handy Yum Commands for yap


Control the yap package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install yap

This command will install yap on the server.

yum remove yap

This command will un-install yap on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove yap, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove yap

This command will un-install yap on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove yap when using the -y flag.

yum update yap

This command will update yap to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove yap, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update yap

This command will update yap to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove yap when using the -y flag.

yum info yap

This command will show you core information about the yap package.

yum deplist yap

This command will show you the dependencies for yap. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.
