Description:

A scripting and command-line front-end is provided by 'r' (aka 'littler') as a lightweight binary wrapper around the GNU R language and environment for statistical computing and graphics. While R can be used in batch mode, the r binary adds full support for both 'shebang'-style scripting (i.e. using a hash-mark-exclamation-path expression as the first line in scripts) as well as command-line use in standard Unix pipelines. In other words, r provides the R language without the environment.

Handy Yum Commands for R-littler


Control the R-littler package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install R-littler

This command will install R-littler on the server.

yum remove R-littler

This command will un-install R-littler on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove R-littler, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove R-littler

This command will un-install R-littler on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove R-littler when using the -y flag.

yum update R-littler

This command will update R-littler to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove R-littler, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update R-littler

This command will update R-littler to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove R-littler when using the -y flag.

This command will show you core information about the R-littler package.
