Bip is an IRC proxy, which means it keeps connected to your preferred IRC servers, can store the logs for you, and even send them back to your IRC client(s) upon connection. Handy Yum Commands for bip


Control the bip package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install bip

This command will install bip on the server.

yum remove bip

This command will un-install bip on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove bip, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove bip

This command will un-install bip on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove bip when using the -y flag.

yum update bip

This command will update bip to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove bip, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update bip

This command will update bip to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove bip when using the -y flag.

yum info bip

This command will show you core information about the bip package.

yum deplist bip
