digiKam is an easy to use and powerful digital photo management application, which makes importing, organizing and manipulating digital photos a "snap". An easy to use interface is provided to connect to your digital camera, preview the images and download and/or delete them. digiKam built-in image editor makes the common photo correction a simple task. The image editor is extensible via plugins, can also make use of the KIPI image handling plugins to extend its capabilities even further for photo manipulations, import and export, etc. Install the kipi-plugins packages to use them.

Handy Yum Commands for digikam


Control the digikam package with the following handy commands outlined below.

Description of Command

yum install digikam

This command will install digikam on the server.

yum remove digikam

This command will un-install digikam on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove digikam, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove digikam

This command will un-install digikam on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove digikam when using the -y flag.

yum update digikam

This command will update digikam to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove digikam, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update digikam

This command will update digikam to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove digikam when using the -y flag.
