Description:

The Examiner is an application that utilizes the objdump command to disassemble and comment foreign executable binaries. This app was designed to analyze static compiled binaries but works ok with others. The intention is for forensic research but could also be used in general reverse engineering. This program can only handle basic dissassembly. If the binary has been modified to resist debugging then the Examinier probably will not be able to analyze the code. Also the Examiner will not analyze live running code.

Handy Yum Commands for examiner


Control the examiner package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install examiner

This command will install examiner on the server.

yum remove examiner

This command will un-install examiner on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove examiner, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove examiner

This command will un-install examiner on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove examiner when using the -y flag.

yum update examiner

This command will update examiner to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove examiner, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
