Description:

FIGlet prints its input using large characters (called "FIGcharacters") made up of ordinary screen characters (called "sub-characters"). FIGlet output is generally reminiscent of the sort of "signatures" many people like to put at the end of e-mail and UseNet messages. It is also reminiscent of the output of some banner programs, although it is oriented normally, not sideways.

Handy Yum Commands for figlet


Control the figlet package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install figlet

This command will install figlet on the server.

yum remove figlet

This command will un-install figlet on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove figlet, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove figlet

This command will un-install figlet on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove figlet when using the -y flag.

yum update figlet

This command will update figlet to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove figlet, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update figlet

This command will update figlet to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove figlet when using the -y flag.

yum info figlet

This command will show you core information about the figlet package.
