Description:

exceptions There is one open-source C++ parser, the C++ front-end to GCC, which is currently able to deal with the language in its entirety. The purpose of the GCC-XML extension is to generate an XML description of a C++ program from GCC's internal representation. Since XML is easy to parse, other development tools will be able to work with C++ programs without the burden of a complicated C++ parser.

Handy Yum Commands for gccxml


Control the gccxml package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install gccxml

This command will install gccxml on the server.

yum remove gccxml

This command will un-install gccxml on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove gccxml, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove gccxml

This command will un-install gccxml on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove gccxml when using the -y flag.

yum update gccxml

This command will update gccxml to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove gccxml, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update gccxml

This command will update gccxml to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove gccxml when using the -y flag.

yum info gccxml

This command will show you core information about the gccxml package.

yum deplist gccxml

This command will show you the dependencies for gccxml. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update gccxml

This command will check if there is an update waiting on gccxml. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
