Description:

QuickCheck80 is a library for random testing of program properties. The programmer provides a specification of the program, in the form of properties which functions should satisfy, and QuickCheck then tests that the properties hold in a large number of randomly generated cases. Specifications are expressed in Haskell, using combinators defined in the QuickCheck library. QuickCheck provides combinators to define properties, observe the distribution of test data, and define test data generators.

Handy Yum Commands for ghc-QuickCheck


Control the ghc-QuickCheck package with the following handy commands outlined below.

Description of Command

yum install ghc-QuickCheck

This command will install ghc-QuickCheck on the server.

yum remove ghc-QuickCheck

This command will un-install ghc-QuickCheck on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove ghc-QuickCheck, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove ghc-QuickCheck

This command will un-install ghc-QuickCheck on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove ghc-QuickCheck when using the -y flag.

yum update ghc-QuickCheck

This command will update ghc-QuickCheck to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove ghc-QuickCheck, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update ghc-QuickCheck

This command will update ghc-QuickCheck to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove ghc-QuickCheck when using the -y flag.

yum info ghc-QuickCheck

This command will show you core information about the ghc-QuickCheck package.

yum deplist ghc-QuickCheck

This command will show you the dependencies for ghc-QuickCheck. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update ghc-QuickCheck

This command will check if there is an update waiting on ghc-QuickCheck. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
