Description:

xmonad is a tiling window manager for X. Windows are arranged automatically to tile the screen without gaps or overlap, maximising screen use. All features of the window manager are accessible from the keyboard: a mouse is strictly optional. xmonad is written and extensible in Haskell. Custom layout algorithms, and other extensions, may be written by the user in config files. Layouts are applied dynamically, and different layouts may be used on each workspace. Xinerama is fully supported, allowing windows to be tiled on several screens. This package provides the shared library.

Handy Yum Commands for ghc-xmonad


Control the ghc-xmonad package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install ghc-xmonad

This command will install ghc-xmonad on the server.

yum remove ghc-xmonad

This command will un-install ghc-xmonad on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove ghc-xmonad, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove ghc-xmonad

This command will un-install ghc-xmonad on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove ghc-xmonad when using the -y flag.

yum update ghc-xmonad

This command will update ghc-xmonad to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove ghc-xmonad, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update ghc-xmonad

This command will update ghc-xmonad to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove ghc-xmonad when using the -y flag.

yum info ghc-xmonad

This command will show you core information about the ghc-xmonad package.

yum deplist ghc-xmonad

This command will show you the dependencies for ghc-xmonad. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

This command will check if there is an update waiting on ghc-xmonad. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
