GLE (Graphics Layout Engine) is a high-quality graphics package for scientists, combining a user-friendly scripting language with a full range of facilities for producing publication-quality graphs, diagrams, posters and slides. GLE provides LaTeX quality fonts together with a flexible graphics module which allows the user to specify any feature of a graph. Complex pictures can be drawn with user-defined subroutines and simple looping structures. Current output formats include EPS, PS, PDF, JPEG, and PNG.

Handy Yum Commands for gle


Control the gle package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install gle

This command will install gle on the server.

yum remove gle

This command will un-install gle on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove gle, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove gle

This command will un-install gle on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove gle when using the -y flag.

yum update gle

This command will update gle to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove gle, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
