iodine lets you tunnel IPv4 data through a DNS server. This can be usable in different situations where internet access is firewalled, but DNS queries are allowed. Handy Yum Commands for iodine


Control the iodine package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install iodine

This command will install iodine on the server.

yum remove iodine

This command will un-install iodine on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove iodine, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove iodine

This command will un-install iodine on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove iodine when using the -y flag.

yum update iodine

This command will update iodine to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove iodine, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update iodine
