Logcheck is a simple utility which is designed to allow a system administrator to view the log-files which are produced upon hosts under their control. It does this by mailing summaries of the log-files to them, after first filtering out "normal" entries. Normal entries are entries which match one of the many included regular expression files contain in the database.

Control the logcheck package with the following handy commands outlined below.
yum install logcheck
This command will install logcheck on the server.
yum remove logcheck
This command will un-install logcheck on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove logcheck, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
yum -y remove logcheck
This command will un-install logcheck on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove logcheck when using the -y flag.
yum update logcheck
This command will update logcheck to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove logcheck, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
