Description:

mod_auth_token allow you to generate URIS for a determined time window, you can also limit them by IP. This is very useful to handle file downloads, generated URIS can't be hot-linked (after it expires), also it allows you to protect very large files that can't be piped trough a script languages due to memory limitation.

Handy Yum Commands for mod_auth_token


Control the mod_auth_token package with the following handy commands outlined below.

Description of Command

yum install mod_auth_token

This command will install mod_auth_token on the server.

yum remove mod_auth_token

This command will un-install mod_auth_token on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove mod_auth_token, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove mod_auth_token

This command will un-install mod_auth_token on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove mod_auth_token when using the -y flag.

yum update mod_auth_token

This command will update mod_auth_token to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove mod_auth_token, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update mod_auth_token

This command will update mod_auth_token to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove mod_auth_token when using the -y flag.

yum info mod_auth_token

This command will show you core information about the mod_auth_token package.

yum deplist mod_auth_token

This command will show you the dependencies for mod_auth_token. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update mod_auth_token

This command will check if there is an update waiting on mod_auth_token. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
