Nightfall is an astronomy application for fun, education, and science. It can produce animated views of eclipsing binary stars, calculate synthetic lightcurves and radial velocity curves, and eventually determine the best-fit model for a given set of observational data of an eclipsing binary star system. It is, however, not able to fry your breakfast egg on your harddisk.

Handy Yum Commands for nightfall


Control the nightfall package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install nightfall

This command will install nightfall on the server.

yum remove nightfall

This command will un-install nightfall on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove nightfall, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove nightfall

This command will un-install nightfall on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove nightfall when using the -y flag.

yum update nightfall

This command will update nightfall to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove nightfall, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update nightfall

This command will update nightfall to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove nightfall when using the -y flag.
