It does the following: - If a number is supplied to ms, a string with a unit is returned. - If a string that contains the number is supplied, it returns it as a number (e.g: it returns 100 for '100'). - If you pass a string with a number and a valid unit, the number of equivalent milliseconds is returned.

Handy Yum Commands for nodejs-ms


Control the nodejs-ms package with the following handy commands outlined below.

Description of Command

yum install nodejs-ms

This command will install nodejs-ms on the server.

yum remove nodejs-ms

This command will un-install nodejs-ms on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove nodejs-ms, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove nodejs-ms

This command will un-install nodejs-ms on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove nodejs-ms when using the -y flag.

yum update nodejs-ms

This command will update nodejs-ms to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove nodejs-ms, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update nodejs-ms

This command will update nodejs-ms to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove nodejs-ms when using the -y flag.

yum info nodejs-ms

This command will show you core information about the nodejs-ms package.

yum deplist nodejs-ms

This command will show you the dependencies for nodejs-ms. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

This command will check if there is an update waiting on nodejs-ms. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
