Description:

This module is a Perl-only implementation of the ECB mode. In combination with a block cipher such as DES, IDEA or Blowfish, you can encrypt and decrypt messages of arbitrarily long length. Though for security reasons other modes than ECB such as CBC should be preferred. See textbooks on cryptography if you want to know why.

Handy Yum Commands for perl-Crypt-ECB


Control the perl-Crypt-ECB package with the following handy commands outlined below.

This command will install perl-Crypt-ECB on the server.

yum remove perl-Crypt-ECB

This command will un-install perl-Crypt-ECB on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove perl-Crypt-ECB, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove perl-Crypt-ECB

This command will un-install perl-Crypt-ECB on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove perl-Crypt-ECB when using the -y flag.

yum update perl-Crypt-ECB

This command will update perl-Crypt-ECB to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove perl-Crypt-ECB, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.
