Description:

py-radix is an implementation of a radix tree for Python, which supports storage and lookups of IPv4 and IPv6 networks. The radix tree (a.k.a Patricia tree) is the data structure most commonly used for routing table lookups. It efficiently stores network prefixes of varying lengths and allows fast lookups of containing networks. py-radix's implementation is built solely for networks (the data structure itself is more general).

Handy Yum Commands for py-radix


Control the py-radix package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install py-radix

This command will install py-radix on the server.

yum remove py-radix

This command will un-install py-radix on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove py-radix, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove py-radix

This command will un-install py-radix on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove py-radix when using the -y flag.

yum update py-radix

This command will update py-radix to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove py-radix, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update py-radix

This command will update py-radix to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove py-radix when using the -y flag.

yum info py-radix

This command will show you core information about the py-radix package.

yum deplist py-radix

This command will show you the dependencies for py-radix. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update py-radix

This command will check if there is an update waiting on py-radix. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
