python-carrot is an AMQP messaging queue framework. AMQP is the Advanced Message Queuing Protocol, an open standard protocol for message orientation, queuing, routing, reliability and security. The aim of python-carrot is to make messaging in Python as easy as possible by providing a high-level interface for producing and consuming messages. At the same time it is a goal to re-use what is already available as much as possible.

Handy Yum Commands for python-carrot


Control the python-carrot package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install python-carrot

This command will install python-carrot on the server.

yum remove python-carrot

This command will un-install python-carrot on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove python-carrot, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove python-carrot

This command will un-install python-carrot on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove python-carrot when using the -y flag.

yum update python-carrot

This command will update python-carrot to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove python-carrot, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update python-carrot

This command will update python-carrot to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove python-carrot when using the -y flag.

yum info python-carrot

This command will show you core information about the python-carrot package.

yum deplist python-carrot

This command will show you the dependencies for python-carrot. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.
