Description:

polib allows you to manipulate, create, modify gettext files (pot, po and mo files). You can load existing files, iterate through it's entries, add, modify entries, comments or metadata, etc... or create new po files from scratch. polib provides a simple and pythonic API, exporting only three convenience functions 'pofile', 'mofile' and 'detect_encoding', and the 4 core classes: POFile, MOFile, POEntry and MOEntry for creating new files/entries.

Handy Yum Commands for python2-polib


Control the python2-polib package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install python2-polib

This command will install python2-polib on the server.

yum remove python2-polib

This command will un-install python2-polib on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove python2-polib, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove python2-polib

This command will un-install python2-polib on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove python2-polib when using the -y flag.

yum update python2-polib

This command will update python2-polib to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove python2-polib, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update python2-polib

This command will update python2-polib to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove python2-polib when using the -y flag.

yum info python2-polib

This command will show you core information about the python2-polib package.

yum deplist python2-polib

This command will show you the dependencies for python2-polib. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update python2-polib

This command will check if there is an update waiting on python2-polib. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
