Description:

This FastCGI OGC web map server implements OGC WMS 1.3.0 and 1.1.1. The services are prepared as regular projects in QGIS. They're rendered using the QGIS libraries. The server also supports SLD (Styled Layer Descriptor) for styling. Sample configurations for Httpd and Lighttpd are included. Please refer to qgis-mapserver-README.fedora for details!

Handy Yum Commands for qgis-mapserver


Control the qgis-mapserver package with the following handy commands outlined below.


Command

Description of Command

yum install qgis-mapserver

This command will install qgis-mapserver on the server.

yum remove qgis-mapserver

This command will un-install qgis-mapserver on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove qgis-mapserver, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove qgis-mapserver

This command will un-install qgis-mapserver on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove qgis-mapserver when using the -y flag.

yum update qgis-mapserver

This command will update qgis-mapserver to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove qgis-mapserver, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update qgis-mapserver

This command will update qgis-mapserver to the latest version. When you run this command with the -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove qgis-mapserver when using the -y flag.

yum info qgis-mapserver

This command will show you core information about the qgis-mapserver package.

yum deplist qgis-mapserver

This command will show you the dependencies for qgis-mapserver. Thankfully, when using Yum, if dependencies are required, these are also installed at the same time so you don't have to worry too much about that.

yum check-update qgis-mapserver

This command will check if there is an update waiting on qgis-mapserver. When you run this command this will return nothing if there is nothing to update, or, will return the package name if the package is due to be updated.
