Reposurgeon enables risky operations that version-control systems don't want to let you do, such as editing past comments and metadata and removing commits. It works with any version control system that can export and import git fast-import streams, including git, hg, fossil, bzr, CVS and RCS. It can also read Subversion dump files directly and can thus be used to script production of very high-quality conversions from Subversion to any supported DVCS.

Handy Yum Commands for reposurgeon


Control the reposurgeon package with the following handy commands outlined below.

yum install reposurgeon

This command will install reposurgeon on the server.

yum remove reposurgeon

This command will un-install reposurgeon on the server. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove reposurgeon, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y remove reposurgeon

This command will un-install reposurgeon on the server. When you run this command with th e -y flag, you will not be prompted to check that you are sure you want to remove the package - so be sure you absolutely want to remove reposurgeon when using the -y flag.

yum update reposurgeon

This command will update reposurgeon to the latest version. When you run this command, you will be asked if you are sure that you want to remove reposurgeon, so you have to manually confirm that you want to do this.

yum -y update reposurgeon
